Cecily Walker, Web Services Librarian, Vancouver Public Library

| Cecily Walker is the Web Services Librarian at Vancouver Public Library, and currently serves as the President-Elect of the Western Canada Chapter of SLA. She holds an MLIS (2004) from the University of British Columbia, and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with minors in Literature and African American Studies from Georgia State University. She has taught courses on information architecture, web development and user experience at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and delivered workshops on social media strategy and user experience in libraries, and recently published an article in Feliciter, the Journal of the Canadian Library Association. Her professional interests include customer experience, usability, wayfinding, using emerging technologies to deliver content and services to underserved populations, and front-end web development. Previously, Cecily worked for HSBC’s eCommerce Centre of Excellence and for Sage Software Canada as a user experience analyst. |
