Born and raised in Massachusetts, and die hard Red Sox fan, Talia Resendes graduated from Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island and received a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed her M.L.I.S. from the University of Rhode Island in 2006. She has recently completed a thesis on identity perspectives within Second Life towards an M.S in Information Systems/Operations Management from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
From 2004-2010, Talia was a valued staff member of the Johnson & Wales University Library working first for the circulation department, then as a reference librarian, and then holding the recently established position of digital services librarian. In addition, Talia served as an adjunct faculty member within the School of Technology within Johnson & Wales. Talia is always excited by finding new ways to utilize web technologies for the advancement of library services in support of higher learning.
Talia recently left Johnson & Wales University to join the Training & Community Team at Springshare, the company response for revolutionizing class/subject guide delivery with LibGuides. She is very excited about her role within Springshare and looks forward to working with Libraries of all types into the future.
Lastly, she is the 2009-2010 co-chair of ITIG, the ACRL-NEC special interest group dedicated to researching and discussing the latest technologies in academic libraries.
