As Vice President of Content for trade publisher and conference organizer Information Today, Inc. (ITI). Dick heads up ITI’s Content Group and directs the editorial operations for all trade periodicals, reference products, and conference programs—each aimed at the library community or professional btob information markets, including publishers. Publications under Dick’s wing include Information Today, Online Searcher, EContent, KMWorld, CRM Magazine, Streaming Media, American Library Directory, Literary Marketplace, and Computers in Libraries, where he simultaneously serves as Executive Editor.
Prior to joining ITI in 2001, Dick was Executive Director of NFAIS (the National Federation for Advanced Information Services). At NFAIS he managed operations, directed the federation’s publishing and conference programming, and provided consulting services to member organizations. Dick held prior management positions with Chemical Abstracts Service—the producer of STN International—and the Macmillan Electronic Publishing Group, including Pergamon Press, Molecular Design Limited, BRS Software, the BRS and ORBIT search services, and Macmillan New Media. He has more than 25 years of experience in the information industry. Published widely—from scholarly journals to the popular press—Dick observes and comments frequently on the industry.
He holds a B.S., summa cum laude, and with Honors in Journalism, from Ohio University and an M.A. in International Communications from Ohio State. |
