Clare has been working with academic libraries for over 11 years at Ingram Coutts. She has been Director of Sales in North America for the past year and previously was Director, Sales Canada. During this time, as the business of providing content to libraries has gone from being all about print books to being very much about the integration of electronic and print collections, her role too has evolved to being much more e-focused.
Prior to working at Ingram Coutts, Clare worked with public libraries for several years through Macneill Library Service and later National Book Services. Her career in the book world began at Duthie Books in Vancouver, where Clare learned the art of retail book selling while completing her BA, General Studies at Simon Fraser University.
Throughout her career, Clare has taken an active role in the library community and currently serves as co-convenor of an ALCTS Interest Group, as well as participating in panels, speaking at conferences and giving talks to MLIS classes on the role of the vendor in Collection Development and Acquisitions. |
