Lesley Ellen Harris is a Copyright, Licensing and E-Commerce Lawyer/Consultant who works on legal, business, policy and strategic issues in the publishing, entertainment, Internet and information industries. Her clients range from individuals to governments, associations, unions and corporations. She also works with libraries, archives, museums and educational institutions. Lesley began her career in copyright in 1984 working with a lobbying group interested in revising Canada's copyright laws. From 1987-1991, Lesley was Senior Copyright Officer with the Canadian government where she helped revise the country's copyright laws. A frequent speaker on intellectual property issues, she is the author of the books, Licensing Digital Content: A Practical Guide for Librarians (2nd ed. 2009)(ALA Editions), Digital Property: Currency of the 21st Century (1997) and Canadian Copyright Law (3rd ed. 2001), both published by McGraw-Hill and numerous articles and papers.
