Angela Carstensen, Head Librarian, Convent of the Sacred Heart

Angela Carstensen is the Director of Libraries at Convent of the Sacred Heart, a K-12 independent school for girls in New York City. An active member of YALSA since 2000, Angela served as the Chair of the 2010 YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults committee. She previously served for four years on the Alex Awards committee, and as Chair in 2008. She is also a member of AISL, AASL, and the AASL ISS section. Angela is editor of the Adult 4 Teen blog on the School Library Journal website, a member of ALA Council, and President of the Hudson Valley Library Association (HVLA), the independent school librarians association for the New York City metro area. Angela has presented programs on the future of school libraries at the NYSAIS Educational Technology Conference and for HVLA, and has a particular interest in the future of online databases and ebook collections.
