Web 2.0 tools and practices, web services, social media, and new platforms of social computing are enabling libraries and information professionals to interact with their clients and communities in new and exciting ways. Led by gamer/gadget gurus Aaron Schmidt and Erik Boekesteijn, this evening is not only filled with fun, networking, and of course, learning and laughing but it introduces a new library game developed and designed by high school students in the Netherlands. Opening Reception

AIIP TECHNOLOGY AWARD
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21

The Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP) will be presenting it's 9th annual AIIP Technology Award on Tuesday prior to Danny Sulllivan's keynote talk. At 8:55 a.m., Cynthia Shamel, AIIP Past President and Principal of Shamel Information Services, will present the award to a company or individual that produces information products (databases, web organizers, internet sites), a new or revamped product or technology that helps information professionals with their day-to-day operations in locating, analyzing and organizing information.
