Sally Mays, Library Media Specialist, Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School
| |
| After a career in business, Ms. Mays went back to school for a degree in library media education and has been a library media specialist for 20 years, the last five at Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School. She says that her job is to teach students how to select the best tools and methods to answer their own questions. “The key for all students is learning and demonstrating what they know and how they learned it,” stated Mays. “I love being a Library Media Specialist! Students need a guide through the technology and information forest, and library media specialists do that every day.” Sally received the 2012 National Information Technology Pathfinder Award from AASL, which recognizes and honors a school library media specialist demonstrating vision and leadership through the use of information technology to build lifelong learners. She is a Past-President of MEMO (MN Educational Media Organization). |
