Robert F. Loftus is the Technology and Network Support Librarian at the Baldwinsville Public Library in Baldwinsville, New York. His primary responsibilities include maintaining the library's PC network, teaching information literacy classes and covering the library's Tech Drop-In sessions. He also maintains Public Downloads, Open Courseware and Textbooks and Small Business Resources pages on the library website.
I'll be engaged in a variety of projects over the course of the next year, including programming library wifi routers with DD-WRT to provide a login splash page, record usage statistics and bar the downloading of torrents; developing Common Core and Regents Review study materials for primary and secondary school students; creating a document scanning station using XSane open-source software and creating Linux based video editing stations. Details of these projects may be found at my blog http://libraryfactotum.blogpsot.com. |
