Ching-hsien Wang is the Branch Manager for the Library and Archives Information Systems Branch at the Smithsonian.
Ms. Wang is an expert in information science for more than 20 years. She has worked extensively in libraries and archives specializing in information system design, software development, metadata analysis, and project coordination from across the Smithsonian. Among recent large scale digitization projects, Ms. Wang was the program manager for the Smithsonian's Collections Search Center and the Smithsonian Enterprise Digital Asset Network. In this role, she lead a technical team to design and implement the first large scale online search center combining Library & Archives materials and Museum objects at the Smithsonian totaling 9.2 million records and digital assets. Ms. Wang received her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from University of Maryland in 1982. She worked as a software engineer for a major library software company before joining the Smithsonian.
