 Marissa Ball, Emerging Technologies Librarian, Florida International University

  |  | Marissa C. Ball, Emerging TecHnologies Librarian at Florida International University serves as the liaison to the Women’s Studies Center 
offering instruction and collection development services.  Additionally, she serves as 
Secretary on the FIU Faculty Senate Technology Committee and as ACRL Representative on ALA’s Web 
Advisory Committee.  Her varied responsibilities in emerging technologies, social media, and Women’s 
Studies are also reflected in her research interests which include women in film, gender and technology and 
techno-feminism.  Marissa received a Bachelor of Arts in English (with a concentration in Gender Studies 
and a minor in Women’s Studies) from the University of Florida and a Master of Library and Information 
Science from the University of South Florida. |
