WEB WISE WAYS column discusses one of the hottest financial subjects of the last few years, initial public offerings (IPOs). Describes some related terms and acronyms, including NASDAQ (the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations system) and the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission), and what happens when a company goes public.
