Enterprise Search Summit Joins Family of Information Today, Inc. Conferences

January 14, 2004, Medford, NJ—Information Today, Inc. (ITI) has announced that its new conference, Enterprise Search Summit, is scheduled for May 11–12, 2004, at the Hilton New York. Enterprise Search Summit (ESS) is designed to provide information managers and IT professionals with the tools and information needed to plan for, choose, and deploy an internal search capability.

ESS is an intensive 2-day learning experience that is directed toward IT managers, information and knowledge architects, content managers, and Web publishers and developers. The conference will address internal search and findability (and related topics such as taxonomies, categorization, and classification), which are core challenges with the vast amounts of structured and unstructured data that make finding and retrieving relevant information difficult.

ESS offers attendees an intensive learning opportunity in which they are given the practical, detailed advice essential to implementing an effective search solution within

their organizations. Along with tutorials offered by vendor/sponsors, the expert faculty and industry analysts will cover the following:

· The building blocks of “search,” including metadata, taxonomies, and classification
· The complexities of searching both structured and unstructured content
· How to determine which software features are essential
· How to differentiate among the wide range of products on the market
· Case studies illustrating examples of enterprise search applications

Information is available online for ESS at www.enterprisesearchsummit.com. A full detailed program of events will be available in print and online in late February.

In addition to ESS, Information Today, Inc. is also the conference organizer for WebSearch University, Computers in Libraries, KMWorld & Intranets, Streaming Media, Internet Librarian, and Buying & Selling eContent. ITI also publishes many periodicals, books, directories, and online products for the information professional and knowledge management communities.
