Streaming Media CA Conference and Exhibition Attracts 1,000 Attendees and More Than 100 Speakers

December 3, 2003, Medford, NJ—More than 1,000 business executives and streaming media professionals gathered in Santa Clara, California October 14–16 to learn how to increase the efficiency, profitability, and productivity of their businesses with rich-media applications and solutions.

The 3-day conference was filled with numerous interactive sessions and featured six tracks with more than 100 speakers and presenters from the technology and enterprise industries. Of special interest was the opening keynote, Scott Moore, general manager of MSN News & Information and president of MSNBC.com. He examined how rich media and the timeliness of online reporting are drawing larger audiences to the Web for current event news updates. Moore also compared and contrasted free and paid streaming media models and the future of rich media delivered over IP—and discussed how marketers can take maximum advantage of cross-media strategies to reach an audience eager to explore the ideas, issues, and people behind news events.

Many leading technology companies were represented at Streaming Media CA 2003 with speakers from companies such as Bank of America, Keynote Systems, Nielsen/NetRatings, Turner Broadcasting, Showtime Networks, Centra Software, AT&T, Aberdeen Group, Cisco Systems, Inc., Lycos, The Yankee Group, and more.

The exhibit hall at Streaming Media NY showcased the latest in streaming and digital media technologies. Companies offered visitors a look into live Webcasting applications, enterprise software applications, encoding and hosting, and more. A steady stream of traffic filled the exhibit hall throughout the 3-day event as attendees inquired about the latest products and services available.
