Knowledge Management & Intranet Professionals Gathered to Learn at KMWorld & Intranets 2003

Medford, N.J., November 25, 2003 — More than 1,300 knowledge, content, and information management professionals gathered in Santa Clara, California October 14–16 to attend the KMWorld & Intranets 2003 Conference & Exposition.

The combined KMWorld & Intranets 2003 event was host to more than 120 speakers and featured six tracks over 3 days. Of special interest was the content management track, which brought together attendees from both the knowledge management and intranets portions of the conference to attendees learn how to develop and implement content management strategies and solutions.

Peter Rinearson, corporate vice president of Microsoft Corporation, was the opening and plenary keynote speaker at KMWorld & Intranets 2003. This industry leader's keynote presentation gave attendees insights about how their organization's can apply knowledge sharing practices with strong intranet and portal technologies to enhance productivity and the ability to do business.

The exposition featured top companies in the knowledge management, content management, business intelligence, and intranet fields. The global conference and exposition is designed for developing and evaluating enterprisewide KM strategies and for implementing collaborative intranet and portal strategies and technologies that meet organizational goals.

KMWorld & Intranets 2003 served as a forum for the KMWorld Awards sponsored by KMWorld magazine (www.kmworld.com). The 2003 KM Reality Award, which honors an organization for demonstrating leadership in the implementation of KM practices and processes by realizing measurable benefits, was awarded to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The KM Promise Award recognizes a company that delivered on the promise of providing truly innovative technology solutions for implementing and integrating KM practices into the business process.
