Internet Librarian 2002 Conference and Exhibition Goes to Palm Springs this November

March 25, 2002, Medford, NJ — Information Today, Inc. (ITI), a key provider of technology conferences for more than 20 years, is pleased to announce that the 6th annual Internet Librarian conference and exhibition will take place November 4 – 6, 2002 at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Palm Springs, California. Internet Librarian is a comprehensive conference and exhibition designed to meet the needs of librarians, information managers, systems professionals, researchers and information specialists.

These days everything is changing. In 2001, over 10 percent of domain names disappeared. Companies are merging or ceasing to exist. Many providers of free services are changing their business models and becoming fee-based. And, since 9/11, much information has simply vanished from the Web. Staying afloat with all these changes is very challenging, but Internet Librarian 2002 can help.  This year’s theme, Navigating in Turbulent Waters, focuses programming on finding safe harbors and places for Internet librarians to anchor.

Speaking Opportunities at Internet Librarian 2002
Internet Librarian 2002, including Internet@Schools 2002, caters to all interests and levels of knowledge within four simultaneous tracks and many workshops. This year’s program will encompass: managing content; Web tools; Internet, Intranet, and Extranet services; managing knowledge assets; e-learning; case studies of Internet and Intranet librarians; Web development and management; digitizing resources; distance learning; streaming multimedia; school librarians; and more. In addition, speakers are encouraged to focus on practical applications and case studies as well as technical and managerial issues.

Those interested in sending a proposal to speak should complete the online submission form that is available at www.infotoday.com/il2002/SpeakerSubmissions.htm. Interested parties may also contact Jane Dysart, Program Chair, at jane@dysartjones.com. Submission deadline is April 27, 2002.

Exhibiting Opportunities at Internet Librarian 2002
Internet Librarian is THE exhibition for librarians and information professionals interested in Internet and technology-based products and services. It attracts an audience of nearly 2,000 and includes corporate, public, academic, special, government, and school librarians; information professionals; information managers; and technical managers. Although attendees come from all over the world, they all have one thing in common: They are decision makers with purchasing power.

To help both attendees and exhibitors get the most out of their time in the exhibit hall, the Internet Librarian exhibition will feature new exhibit hours. For the first time ever, this year’s event will kick off with a grand opening reception on Monday night. Designed as “non-conflict” time, the reception will be followed by two more days of exhibits. Internet Librarian also has a number of sponsorship opportunities available to both exhibitors and non-exhibitors.
