Information Today, Inc. Publishes New Edition of Its Popular Guide to Federal Government Web Sites

January 24, 2001, Medford, NJ — Information Today, Inc. (ITI) has announced the publication of Internet Blue Pages: The Guide to Federal Government Web Sites, 2001-2002 Edition, a new title in the publisher’s CyberAge Books imprint.

Internet Blue Pages (IBP) is the leading reference to almost 1,900 U.S. federal government Web sites. The most comprehensive, reliable, and easy-to-use directory of its kind, IBP is organized by agency in U.S. Government Manual style. Annotated entries include agency name, URL, function or purpose of selected agencies, and links from agency home pages.

IBP differentiates itself from other guides with its extensive index to subjects and agencies: Each entry is numbered for easy reference to the appropriate agency, and a complete alphabetical listing of agencies is also included. This new edition of IBP lists more than twice as many government Web addresses as the previous edition and now includes listings for all national parks, federal courts, military libraries, Energy Department laboratories, Federal Reserve banks, presidential libraries, and Social Security offices.

The new edition features significantly increased coverage of gateway sites (sites organized to provide access to all useful Web pages for a specific topic or audience). In addition, a companion Web site at www.fedweb.com provides IBP readers with a hyperlinked directory to the resources listed in the book.

In its review of the previous edition, Choice described IBP as “a handy, useful guide to federal government information…comprehensive, authoritative…recommended.” The Bookwatch called it “the ideal starting place for an information search…highly recommended for all individuals, political groups, businesses, and lobbyists needing to deal with the federal government.”
