LAW OF THE SUPER SEARCHERS: The Online Secrets of Top Legal Researchers
New title released in “Super Searchers” series of books for online information users

Medford, NJ, November 8, 1999—CyberAge Books, an imprint of Information Today, Inc., announces the impending release of Law of the Super Searchers: The Online Secrets of Top Legal Researchers, by practicing attorney and online searcher T. R. Halvorson. The book makes its debut at Internet Librarian ’99 (San Diego, November 8-10, 1999), a leading information industry conference and exhibition.

Law of the Super Searchers features Halvorson’s interviews with eight of the world’s leading legal researchers, who explain how they use the Internet and online services to approach, analyze, and carry through a legal research project. In taking an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the field of online legal research, the book illuminates a wide range of professional experiences, and offers a wealth of expert advice for users of legal information.

In his interviews, Halvorson avoids the typical introductory approach to online research and focuses on topics critical to lawyers and legal research professionals: organizing a strategy, building an efficient search, documenting the search, and evaluating information sources. Instead of just a bundle of “cool links” that rapidly go out of date, this book reveals what goes on inside the expert legal researcher’s mind—timeless secrets that lead them to success. The book includes a glossary, index, and listings of Web sites, commercial services, legal catalogs, databases, search engines, electronic discussion groups, professional journals, and other recommended legal information sources.

Author T. R. Halvorson is a practicing attorney, legal researcher, author, computer programmer, and small grains farmer. He is licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Eighth and Ninth Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the courts of Montana. He is the author of How to Avoid Liability: The Information Professional's Guide to Negligence and Warranty Risks and Legal Liability Problems in Cyberspace: Craters in the Information Highway, as well as numerous articles in Searcher, Law Library Resource Xchange, and EContent.

Edited by noted author and cybrarian Reva Basch, Law of the Super Searchers is the second title in the new “Super Searchers” series of books. Other titles in the series include Super Searchers Do Business: The Online Secrets of Top Business Researchers (Mary Ellen Bates), and—upcoming—Super Searchers on Wall Street: Top Investment Professionals Share Their Online Research Secrets (Amelia Kassel).
