IOLS '97 -- Expanded Expectations

Library automation has been an area of exciting advancements for two decades; however, there has never been a time as exciting for library automation as today. Our expectations for information delivery systems have been expanded dramatically in this time of the Internet, Wide Area Information Systems, and Web-based interfaces to multiple products. Concurrently we librarians are greatly challenged as we think about our long-range plans in light of these advancements in technology.
The National Online Meeting focuses on the many online products and services available to all online customers. The IOLS meeting held concurrently with the National Online Meeting focuses on how those resources are implemented in libraries. Libraries and serving library patrons are the focus of IOLS '97
