Factiva has announced an agreement with The Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Inc.
(Nikkei), Japan's leading financial newspaper publisher, to add the English-language
Nikkei Report and Nikkei Weekly to its collection of global
news and business information. The company also announced that it has introduced
Chinese- and Japanese-language interfaces to the Factiva Search Module
and Factiva Track Module.
Nikkei Newspapers
The Nikkei Report provides comprehensive Japanese business news
in English. Each business day, the service translates more than 100 key
articles appearing in The Nihon Keizai Shimbun, as well as in three
other Nikkei newspapers. Backed by more than 1,400 veteran journalists,
the Nikkei Report delivers extensive coverage of the latest trends
in politics, the economy, industry, technology, and financial markets in
Japan.
The Nikkei Weekly is the only English-language economic journal
published in Japan. According to the announcement, the newspaper has a
consistent editorial policy of observing Japan and Asia from an international
viewpoint. The Nikkei Weekly provides detailed analyses of the business
news of the region and a broad, in-depth treatment of the reasons behind
current events. In addition, it offers comprehensive yet concise week-by-week
coverage of major business topics.
New Interfaces
According to the announcement, the introduction of Factiva's new interfaces
will enable Chinese- and Japanese-speaking customers to more easily integrate
Factiva's global content into their intranets and portals. In addition,
these users can research and monitor news and business information about
their customers, competitors, and markets. Groups of employees can now
share information more efficiently on specific companies, industries, or
subjects that influence their decisions and raise organizational intelligence.
Both Factiva Search Module and Factiva Track Module are part of Factiva
Integration, a suite of tools that's designed to enable companies to integrate
Factiva's collection of global news and business information into intranets,
portals, and mobile devices.
