EDITOR'S NOTE
Weird Tales and Scary Movies
by Brandi Scardilli

Happy Halloween! In honor of the holiday, David Haden wanted to dig deep into sources for imaginative literature, or as he says, weird tales (page 33). I decided to run my Halloween discussion with  IT writers—featuring our favorite scary movies—to get you into the spooky season mood (page 17). And Anthony Aycock conjured up some feline resources in case you need to do some research on a witch’s favorite familiar (page 22). It’s perfect reading material for curling up by the fire with your pumpkin spice latte and your black cat on your lap.

Our AI coverage this issue comes from Jessica Hilburn, whose analysis of the Hollywood strikes (ongoing at press time) reveals why they’re important for understanding the use of AI going forward (page 13); George Pike, whose Legal Issues column looks at AI and copyright (page 24); and Linda Pophal, whose Let’s Get Strategic column focuses on best practices for fact-checking AI tools (page 39).

Happy Reading!

Brandi Scardilli
