Accumedia has announced the release of the Accumedia Convergence Platform
(ACP) for Media version 2.5, a Web services content management and delivery
solution. Designed and built specifically to address the unique needs of
media companies, the ACP for Media offers extended functionality that puts
control back in the hands of the editorial and business staff while answering
the industry's strategic, financial, and operational concerns.
This latest version of Accumedia's content management software eliminates
the need for complex Web design and the programming of dynamic, content-rich
Web sites. It also allows print editors to schedule personalized content
simultaneously for multiple publications or brands using simple, nontechnical
user interfaces.
ACP provides a complete enterprise content management and Web publishing
solution that's designed to reduce the operational and integration costs
typically associated with large-scale, content-rich Web development projects.
This latest version of the ACP for Media offers new features for managing
dynamic Web content while taking the technical aspects out of the equation.
New features in version 2.5 include WYSIWYG content editing from Microsoft
Word, graphical content scheduling, segmentation-based content delivery
(customized content for users), online subscription support, and e-mail
marketing.
"Bridging print and online operations has been a particularly challenging
task for magazine publishers," said Ed Williams, CEO of Accumedia. "Clearly,
operating the two as separate entities has become a financial drain and
monumental headache for all but a select few. The Accumedia Convergence
Platform addresses those issues by eliminating the need for a dedicated
online editorial staff and allowing the nontechnical print editors and
business managers to control their business."
According to the announcement, American Health Consultants, the largest
publisher of healthcare newsletters in the world and a division of Thomson
Publishing, has selected Accumedia and the ACP for Media to address its
Web operations for BioWorld Online (http://www.bioworld.com).
