BioMedNet has announced the release of BioMedNet Reviews (http://www.bmn.com/reviews),
a new resource for the institutional market. BioMedNet Reviews provides
users with access to a new feature within BioMedNet: a life science database
of review articles from 100 Elsevier Science journals, including content
from all Trends and Current Opinion titles. The database already contains
over 10,000 articles that go as far back as 1994, and 200 new ones are
added each month.
Users of BioMedNet Reviews are able to draw on material within the reviews
database to create their own virtual journals specific to their particular
research interests. Articles, which are selected using sophisticated personalization
features and keywords, link seamlessly to MEDLINE. Users also benefit from
access to a number of other information resources within BioMedNet, including
live reports from conferences and a daily news service.
Access to BioMedNet Reviews is throughan institutional site-license
subscription via a defined IP domain. An optional log-in service will allow
users to personalize their site, enabling them to access BioMedNet Reviews
from home, the lab, or on the move.
BioMedNet Reviews will form part of BioMedDirect, a highly integrated
group of products and services that will address the needs of the biomedical
research community and corporate healthcare markets. BioMedDirect is a
component part of the new Elsevier ScienceDirect solutions.
David Bousfield, publishing director at BioMedNet, said: "The enthusiastic
response to the free institutional trial to BioMedNet Reviews clearly indicates
just how highly this innovative new product is regarded within the life
science community. We will be in a position to sign up our first customers
very soon, and are very excited about the benefits that BioMedNet Reviews
will bring to thousands of life scientists worldwide."
