Information Today, Inc. has announced the publication of Super Searchers
Make It On Their Own: Top Independent Information Professionals Share Their
Secrets for Starting and Running a Research Business, by Suzanne Sabroski.
"Over the years I've spent researching and eventually entering this
field, what I have enjoyed most is getting to know some very interesting
people and learning how they combine their business and research skills
to succeed as entrepreneurs," said Sabroski. "These are the stories of
Super Searchers who have made it on their own, and who exemplify two major
trends: the explosion of the Information Age and the rise of the independent
professional."
Sabroski interviewed 11 successful research entrepreneurs for the book,
asking them to share their strategies for getting started in the business,
developing a niche, finding clients, doing the research, networking with
peers, and staying up-to-date with vital Web resources and technologies.
The book, which is the 10th title in the Reva Basch-edited Super Searchers
series, is loaded with tips and techniques for building a profitable information
service.
Sabroski is principal of Sabroski & Associates, which provides general
research and writing support to businesses. She has a bachelor's degree
in political science and mass communications and a master's degree in educational
media, and has served on the board of AIIP. She lives and works in Minnesota.
