ISI has announced the release of ISI Proceedings version 2.0, which
now includes cited references for records dating to 1999. The addition
of cited references permits users to link to the full records of cited
papers as well as to identify other papers that build on the same area
of research, based on their shared citations.
The coverage within ISI Proceedings version 2.0 will further be expanded
to include meeting abstracts, particularly from biomedical and chemistry
conferences. In addition, the service will significantly increase book
coverage and the number of proceedings indexed annually.
ISI Proceedings version 2.0 will also offer the same search capabilities
that are found in ISI Web of Science version 5.0, including the following:
-
Combine Searches—Allows users to create set combination searches to refine
search results
-
Advanced Search—Enables experienced searchers to conduct a complex search
for more targeted results
-
Search History—Displays searches for the current session. Users can also
save and retrieve search histories for future sessions.
Subscribers to ISI Proceedings version 2.0 will be able to seamlessly link
from the record in ISI Proceedings to the cited articles in ISI Web of
Science, the publisher's full-text article, SFX, and library holdings.
Additionally, the service will offer links to ISI Current Contents Connect,
BIOSIS Previews, INSPEC, and CAB ABSTRACTS.
ISI Proceedings version 2.0 will be available in August.
