| epixtech, Inc. has announced the debut of Horizon Sunrise 7.2, the
third major release in the Horizon Sunrise series. Horizon Sunrise 7.2
introduces both the new Sunrise application launcher and an entirely new
MARC editor that fulfills many customer requests.
According to the announcement, Horizon Sunrise sets a new standard in
staff efficiency and ease of use by allowing libraries to customize their
work flow. The application launcher makes all of the functionality and
tools a library needs continuously available through keyboard shortcuts
or from the Horizon Sunrise desktop. According to the announcement, epixtech
has eliminated the need to open and close modules, search for utilities
or applications, or switch between applications.
Horizon Sunrise 7.2 also introduces record-ownership tracking for consortia
environments that maintain independent cataloging records. It supports
greater efficiency for acquisitions staff as epixtech further extends its
utilization of the EDIFACT standard for processing electronic orders, vendor
acknowledgements, and invoices along with item-record creation for pre-processed
materials without staff intervention.
