Ipedo, Inc., a provider of software products for managing and delivering
dynamic content over the Internet, has introduced Ipedo Web Express, a
flexible and easy-to-use framework that developers can deploy to quickly
leverage XML in their Web sites and portals. Ipedo Web Express allows organizations
to reduce the complexity of site style changes, reuse existing content
assets in new applications, and streamline development for new dynamic
Web applications. Ipedo has also announced the launch of the Ipedo Developer
Network (IDN), a new online resource for XML application developers and
users of Ipedo products.
Ipedo Web Express
Ipedo Web Express is a server-side software environment that uses XML
content and style sheets to dynamically publish Web content. Easily integrated
with existing infrastructures, it allows Web developers to use unstructured
XML content in their Web applications.
Its features include modular XML content processing that breaks down
complicated eXtensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) transformations into manageable
steps, simple tag execution using tag libraries for JavaServer Pages (JSP)
and Active Server Pages (ASP), cross-document content combination in which
links to XML queries allow XML document fragments from multiple collections
and sources to be combined on the fly into new dynamic documents, and an
Open Development Environment. Ipedo Web Express is built completely on
standards such as XML, XSL, XQuery, Sun's Java XML processing and J2EE
specifications, and Microsoft's .NET framework. It's also compatible with
applications built using the Apache Cocoon XML publishing framework.
Ipedo Web Express is available now for Windows 2000, Windows NT, Sun
Solaris, and Red Hat Linux. An evaluation version can be downloaded for
free from the Ipedo Developer Network at http://www.ipedo.com/developer.
Ipedo Developer Network
IDN is a direct link to Ipedo's development and support resources, including
the Developer Community, a collection of forums designed to connect developers
to the technical resources within Ipedo and to other Ipedo users. Developers
and technical evaluators who want hands-on experience with Ipedo's technology
can use IDN to download fully functional versions of the company's products.
