According to the announcement, the setting for Trouble at Risk-eGames.com is a dot-com company where nothing is as it appears. The heroine is Isabella, the firm’s information professional, who ultimately solves the mystery. Others in the cast of characters include a CEO with a large ego and an unusual wardrobe, a Web developer who is suspected of living at the office, and a couple of MBAs who lack compassion for each other and everyone else. As the dot-com dream begins to fade, everyone has a motive for creating mischief. 

A new chapter will be published on the Web site every month through June, and the conclusion of the mystery will be revealed at the Special Libraries Association’s (SLA) Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas, on June 13. Beginning in mid-May, readers will be able to enter a raffle where they can guess which character perpetrated the crime. A drawing of all correct entries will be held, and the winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the SLA Conference in Los Angeles in June 2002. 

Kelly’s published works include Killing Time in Ocean City and Cape Mayhem, both of which are published by Plexus Publishing (an imprint of Information Today, Inc.). She holds a master of science degree in information studies from Drexel University in Philadelphia and is a former chair of the ITE Division of SLA. She currently works at a dot-com in Boston (which, unlike Risk-eGames.com sells a product with actual intellectual content and employs a much nicer staff than does her fictional dot-com).
