Applied Semantics Launches AfterMarket DomainSearch

Applied Semantics' Naming Solutions division, a tools and applications provider for domain name registrars, has announced the launch of AfterMarket DomainSearch at Dotster.com. DomainSearch allows domain name registrars to offer their customers conceptually related aftermarket domain names for sale on each search results page, enabling the first fully integrated primary and secondary domain name search.

"Naming Solutions' AfterMarket DomainSearch service is the perfect fit for our domain name search-and-retrieval needs," said George DeCarlo, chief technology officer of Dotster, Inc. "This partnership is part of an ongoing initiative to make sure that Dotster's customers have access to cutting-edge technology which enables a great overall buying experience."

Through a partnership with BuyDomains.com, an aftermarket domain name broker, Applied Semantics now offers its customers access to a comprehensive database of 65,000 previously owned, premium domain names for instant sale and transfer. According to the announcement, this new product enables domain name registrars to give their customers direct and easy access to high-quality domain names. This will provide a new vehicle to combat slowing sales, customer frustration, and low industry-search-conversion rates that today leave 98 percent of domain name searches without a sale.

"We are excited to be the first registrar infrastructure company to offer registrars a fully integrated primary and secondary search service to truly create a one-stop shop for domain name purchases," said Jason Liebman, general manager of Naming Solutions. "AfterMarket DomainSearch adds to our arsenal of products, which continue to revolutionize the buying and selling experience of domain names to enable our customers to generate more revenues and receive a high return on investment."

According to the announcement, DomainSearch's features and benefits include the following:

  • A significant, immediate ancillary revenue stream with no out-of-pocket expense

  • An easy-to-integrate private-label solution

  • A powerful, meaning-based search technology that returns relevant, conceptually related results
