Handshake Productions to Launch E-LAM Reports
for Libraries, Archives, and Museums
Handshake Productions has announced
that it will launch the E-LAM Reports starting early this year. According
to the announcement, the E-LAM Reports are a series of four electronic
reports providing timely discussion and information on online and e-commerce
issues of specific interest to libraries, archives, and museums. Each issue
will provide up-to-date information in this area, along with relevant tips,
trends, and tools to enhance the online and e-commerce activities of subscribing
institutions. Case studies and evaluations of successful and interesting
online and e-commerce sites of libraries, archives, or museums also will
be presented.
Publication will only be in electronic format, with each issue produced
in Adobe PDF to allow viewing in the original layout on all systems. The
E-LAM Reports will be accessible from anywhere via a password-protected
Web site.
Each of the four 2000 issues will have a featured analysis on a different
topic, as follows:
Issue 1: Developing an online and e-commerce strategy (including a detailed
checklist)
Issue 2: Options for collecting payment on the Internet
Issue 3: Marketing your Web site and e-commerce activities
Issue 4: Understanding developments in copyright, privacy, and other legal
issues
The E-LAM Reports are written by Lesley Ellen Harris, a lawyer, consultant,
and instructor in copyright law, new media law, and e-commerce. Harris
is also the author of the book Digital Property: Currency of the 21st
Century (McGraw-Hill) and the editor of The Copyright &
New Media Law Newsletter: For Librarians & Information Professionals
(Handshake Productions). Subscriptions to the E-LAM Reports may be purchased
