I am currently the Librarian for Instructional Design, Outreach and Training at Pepperdine University. Previously, I spent three years as the Emerging Technologies and Web Coordinator at College Library at the University of California, Los Angeles. I have also had the opportunity to be one of the founding librarians at the University of California, Merced. Having worked in a variety of Academic Libraries and a Public Library, I focus my work on the needs of the user. My research explores information seeking behaviors of undergraduates and developing web content for visual learners. At Pepperdine, my ideas and projects largely center on the concept of library and technology as a ubiquitous information literacy force. I have also spent a great deal of time contributing to the profession as whole. I hope to help reshape the way libraries and librarians look at technology and help them learn to embrace the fast paced cycle of technology that has become an essential components of higher education in the 21st century institution. |
