Melissa Falgout, Web Services Librarian, King County Library System
| |
| Melissa Falgout is a King County Library System Web Services Librarian who has been intensely involved with the creation of functional requirements and project management for the Evergreen Open Source ILS/OPAC implementation. KCLS has created a completely customized version of the Evergreen ILS. Based on staff and patron input; the specifications for this new Open Source catalog hold potential to become the ILS of the future. Highly customizable with no proprietary black box barriers, the Evergreen integration has turned the traditional OPAC on its head. Melissa began as a page at King County Library System in 2000 and has worked her way through the ranks of public services as a library assistant, then librarian. She achieved her MLIS in 2007 while continuing to work for KCLS. Her focus is on providing top notch patron services through superior technology resources. |
