Kim Bui-Burton oversees the City of Monterey's Conference Center, Harbor & Marina, Library, Museums, Parking, Recreation and Sports Center. As the Director for California's first public library, housing the California History Room archives, Kim is the City's lead representative for local, regional and national heritage tourism efforts. A graduate of UC Santa Cruz and San Jose State University, and the first Vietnamese-American Library Director in the country, Kim was recognized as one of 40 Outstanding Alumni for SJSU. She is a Board member of the Literacy Campaign for Monterey County, of the Monterey Bay Area Cooperative Library System Administrative Council, the Historic Monterey Steering Committee, the California Preservation Project Steering Committee, and the SJSU-SLIS International Advisory Council. |
