Karen is the Digital Information Services Librarian at the University of Michigan Library, where she coordinates virtual reference services and serves on the Library Web Team. Previously, Karen served as web manager, as a member of catalog implementation teams, as a chair of the Library’s federated search implementation team, and as a leader in the Library’s past web site design projects. From 1998 to 2005 she held the position of head of Michigan’s Social Work Library.  She has presented and published on topics such as library 2.0 applications, information literacy, virtual reference services, collection assessment, and integrating desktop applications for public services desks.
