Connie Crosby, principal of Crosby Group Consulting, is a Toronto-based consultant who specializes in knowledge management, information management, social media and library management. She works with a range of organizations in the professional services, financial institution and information sectors as well as public service agencies and professional associations. In a former life she worked as library manager in a prominent Canadian law firm. Connie runs a knowledge management coaching service for law firms, Law Firm KM, with business partner Stephanie Barnes.
Connie is active in professional associations including SLA and AIIP and is currently serving as Vice President/President-Elect of the Canadian Association of Law Libraries. She co-organizes the popular meetup group Knowledge Workers Toronto with Stephanie Barnes and Martin Cleaver. Connie, along with Daniel Lee, developed and teaches the online Social Media Engagement certificate at the iSchool Institute in the University of Toronto's Faculty of Information. She was a key co-organizer of Canada's largest social media event PodCamp Toronto from 2008 to 2012.
Connie is also a speaker, blogger and author. She has been writing her own blog conniecrosby.blogspot.com for a decade, is a core contributor to the popular law blog Slaw.ca, and is author of the 2010 book Effective Blogging for Libraries from the Neal-Schuman Publishing. She has contributed chapters to several other books on knowledge management and library management.
