Michael Ashenfelder, Digital Preservation Project Coordinator, Library Of Congress

I joined the Library of Congress in 2002. Initially I worked for the Library’s Music Division developing online presentations, then Web Archiving and later, Communications. I write online articles about personal digital archiving, digital preservation leaders and developments in digital preservation. I also produce public information videos and podcasts. Before joining the Library of Congress, I worked in the Bay Area, initially as a web producer in Silicon Valley and later as a technical writer. I wrote for the Whole Earth Review, the Millennium Whole Earth Catalog and Warner New Media, and I produced a Bay Area world-music TV show. I have a Bachelors degree in Music Education from the Berklee College of Music and a Masters in Music History from San Francisco State University.
