Christopher Lawton, Program Assistant, School of Information Studies, Syracuse University

Pulling together an eclectic background in arts administration, performance, and education, Christopher Lawton entered Syracuse University's School of Information Studies in 2011. Since then, Topher has been an active blogger, presenter, and agitator focusing principally on the idea that librarianship can and should happen far outside the library walls. His studies are rooted in information design and architecture, data science, and entrepreneurial librarianship. Topher is the Program Assistant for Library & Information Science at the Syracuse iSchool, and as such serves as a teaching assistant, project manager, researcher, and peer contact, among other things. He is a frequent contributor to the Hack Library School blog, writes occasionally for Information Space (the blog of the iSchool), and writes for his own blog, Multivariable Librarianship, http://hie-anon.blogspot.com/. During the summer 2012, Topher redesigned the internship program for the Frederick County (MD) Public Library.
