EBSCO to Offer New Publishers’ Journals on EBSCO Online |
U.K.-Based Professional Engineering Publishing
Professional Engineering Publishing is the publisher for the Institution
of Mechanical Engineers in the U.K. The IMechE is responsible for the 12-part
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, together with the
Journal of Strain Analysis for Engineering Design. All 13 titles are available
via EBSCO Online.
“Professional Engineering Publishing is delighted to join forces with
EBSCO in order to provide the international engineering community with
online access to our respected journals,” said Peter Williams, general
manager of academic publishing for Professional Engineering Publishing.
“As a learned society publisher, our goal is the efficient dissemination
of high-level primary information. EBSCO Online helps us achieve that ambition.”
Swets & Zeitlinger Publishers
With 31 online titles available, Swets & Zeitlinger Publishers
now provides access to its full-text content through EBSCO Online.
“Swets & Zeitlinger Publishers is delighted by this agreement, as it makes our 31 journals more widely available, especially in the United States,” said Martin Scrivener, publisher, Swets & Zeitlinger Publishers.
“We are pleased to work with such a well-respected publisher as Swets & Zeitlinger,” said F. Dixon Brooke Jr., vice president and division general manger of EBSCO Subscription Services. “Adding their titles to our growing list of electronic journals increases the quality collection of titles we have accessible through the system.”
As a full-service solution for electronic journal management, EBSCO Online is a Web-based service that provides a single site for end users to search and access their library’s collection of electronic journals. A key feature of the system is the ability to search across journal content regardless of publisher. Administrative features enable librarians to manage a dynamic electronic journal collection, order new electronic journals, and track usage. EBSCO Online handles authentication so customers do not have to deal with the problems of keeping up with multiple URLs, usernames, and passwords. Administrators can choose from a variety of authentication methods to accommodate access depending on user community needs.
