Facts On File News Service site goes live

Announces the release of FACTS.com, a subscription site designed for schools, public libraries, and news organizations, by Facts On File News Services of New York, NY (800). Says that the Web site is comprised of the content and design of the Facts On File World News CD-ROM, plus a dozen new features requested by librarians. Adds that the site delivers 20 years of full-text news and interconnects seven reference databases via a half-million internal hyperlinks. Notes that the new features include weekly updates of the Facts On File World News Digest, basic and advanced searching support, archives of pre-1980 stories, Reuters news updates, World Almanac content, single-screen navigation, and all-platform availability. Says that the $1,350 price covers unlimited use in one building, and adds that discounts are available for school libraries and consortia.
