OCLC places electronic collections online on FirstSearch Web, enhances FirstSearch

Announces that OCLC Online Computer Library Center Inc. has released enhancements to Web-based OCLC FirstSearch, and has made OCLC FirstSearch Electronic Collections Online accessible through the FirstSearch Web interface. Says changes to OCLC FirstSearch include a Minimum Graphics option designed to speed response time by eliminating graphics, a database search screen that eliminates one step in the search process for end users, and diacritics in appropriate records from the CA Student Edition, Periodicals Contents Index, CINAHL, OCLC Union List of Periodicals, FactSearch, and Consumers Index databases. Also notes that subscribers to Electronic Collections Online can access the journals through the FirstSearch Web interface. Includes one screen display.
