Some impressions of the NFAIS Meeting...

Focuses on impressions of the NFAIS (National Federation of Abstracting and Information Services) Meeting. States that three outstanding keynoters are more than anyone can hope for at a conference; the three Cs - Connections, Communities, and Customers - were foremost in the minds of many speakers; Networking, Linking, and Relationships were terms that cropped up constantly; and a caution was introduced in that many of the abstracting-and-indexing (A&I) services have been slow to innovate or change - very difficult tasks for established services. Describes the keynote highlight by Bela Hatvany, the co-founder of SilverPlatter Information, as a moving talk which delivered an important message as well. Observes that overall the conference is still one of the best, although the program was a bit crowded. Maintains that more focusing and fewer themes are the answer.
