Karen Krugman is the Chief, Research Library and Archives of the Export-Import Bank of the United States.  In this position since 2005, she manages all library functions including Reference, Technical Services, Archives, and the Bank's Legislative History.  The Research Library and Archives serves the entire agency, including its Washington, DC headquarters and five regional offices.  The library provides a comprehensive range of information resources and tools, as well as research and reference, collection development, archival, legislative history, training, briefing, and daily current awareness services.  Subject areas of interest include emerging markets, risk management, international trade, finance, economics, banking, accounting, government, business, law, marketing, and management.

Before joining the Export-Import Bank, Ms. Krugman was Global Head of Research at the Capital Markets Company (Capco), a financial services consulting firm.  There, in addition to her management responsibilities, she conducted primary and secondary research, packaged research findings into clear, useable, and relevant reports, and developed innovative research publications. 

Prior to Capco, Ms. Krugman worked in Equity Research at Morgan Stanley's New York headquarters.  From this role she acquired the basis for her knowledge of the financial services industry. 

Ms. Krugman holds a bachelor's degree from Boston University as a dual major in French and Classics.  She earned her MLS degree from Queens College in Queens, New York.  She has been a member of Special Libraries Association (SLA) for over 10 years, and during her time as a student at Queens College founded a student chapter.
