Gary W. White is Associate Dean for Public Services at the University of Maryland Libraries, where he administers library services and programs supporting the research and teaching missions of the university. Previously Dr. White held the position of Head of the Department of Reference, Collections and Research at the Penn State University Libraries. He was elected to serve as President of the Reference and User Services Association, a division of the American Library Association, in 2011-2012. Dr. White holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education, an MLS, and an MBA. His research interests include leadership development in higher education and library services for the twenty-first century academy.
