Carol Anne Germain, Information Literacy Librarian, University at Albany
Carol Anne Germain is an Information Literacy Librarian at the University at Albany. In this position, she teaches information literacy courses, particiaptes in reference, and develops web-based instructional resources. Her research interests include Web usability, the persistence of URLs in academic resources, and information literacy. She is currently collaborating with several colleagues on a study focusing on Web usability practice in ARL libraries. The initial findings from this work were published in the article "An exploration into the practices of library Web usability in ARL academic libraries," from the Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology's May 2009 issue. A follow-up article as published in the April 2011issue of portal and titles Defining usability: How library practice differs from published research." In 2012, Dr. Germain complted her Ph.D. in Information Science.
