Maria Gebhardt is currently a Libraries Manager for Print and Web at Broward County Library. Since 2004, she has been responsible for repositioning its Web site and electronic communications efforts. In 2008, she wrote an article, "Transforming a Library’s Web Site, Reducing Dependency on Print", that was published in PR News’ Going Green: Case Studies in Outstanding Green Business Practices. She also received a 2008 National Association of Counties (NACIO) Award of Excellence for a Centralized Web Community Project as well as a 2007 Best of Class NACIO Award for the library's monthly E-Newsletter. The E-Invitation for the West Regional Library also won a first place award in the 2008 National Association of Government Communicators competition. Additionally, she won a MarCom Creative statue in 2006 for the library's E-Newsletter. Maria graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing Management. After spending a decade in the telecom and Internet industries, she joined Broward County Library in 2004. Maria is currently completing her Master of Business Administration degree from Florida Atlantic University and her Master of Science in Library Information Science from Florida State University. |
