Karen McBride, Web Services Librarian, Des Plaines Public Library

Karen McBride spent the first 16 years of her library career with the William Rainey Harper College Library in Palatine, IL, coordinating the library's very successful Library Instruction program. After earning her MLIS from Dominican University in River Forest, IL, McBride joined the Des Plaines Public Library team as Web Services Librarian. Within a few months, McBride has added a number of innovative services to the library's Web site, such as the popular community blog entitled "PlainTalk," as well as creating the library's YouTube channel, "PlainTalk TV."
